Eliza Brill Reed
Eliza is 12 years old and made her opera debut as Cobweb in Neil Armfield’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream which opened the Adelaide Festival earlier this year. She has played many local theatre roles with Pelican Productions, Shane Davidson and Adelaide Youth Theatre, including Jane Banks in Mary Poppins, Flounder in The Little Mermaid and Matilda in the title role. Eliza is a member of the St Peter’s Girls’ School Chamber Choir and Jazz choir and played the lead role of Caractus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. At age 8, Eliza took to the stage at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre as a vocal soloist for the Festival of Music and returned again the following year. Eliza trains in all forms of dance and is also learning to play piano, guitar and percussion. In 2020 she was honoured with a SA Young Composer Award. Eliza is thrilled to again be singing with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in her State Opera South Australia debut.
