James Churchill

CELLO

A native of Sydney, Australia, James Churchill recently returned home after a decade in North America. He is a recent alumnus of the New World Symphony in Miami, where he held a fellowship under the artistic direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. Mr. Churchill has performed with esteemed ensembles such as the Orchestra Victoria and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, in addition to regular substitute engagements with the Sarasota Orchestra, the North Carolina and Charlotte Symphony Orchestras.

Mr. Churchill completed an Artist Diploma at the Glenn Gould School in Toronto. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore, where he studied with Li-Wei Qin. Previously, he trained at the Australian National Academy of Music.
