Kiran Rajasingam

BARITONE

Praised for the “richness and expression” of his voice, baritone Kiran Rajasingam performs regularly with Victorian Opera. His credits for the state opera company include Ein Cappadocian (Salome), Herod (The Play of Herod), The King (Cendrillon), Mr Mayor (The Pied Piper), Scientist #1 (The Grumpiest Boy in the World) as well as chorus roles in The Barber of Seville, Parsifal, La Sonnambula, William Tell, The Capulets and the Montagues and Cunning Little Vixen. Kiran has a keen interest in new music, having originated roles in new operatic works by Richard Mills, Gordon Kerry and Joseph Twist. Kiran is a sought after recitalist, performing regularly with Melbourne based song company The Parlour.

In 2019 Kiran was awarded the prestigious Robert Salzer Foundation Award at The National Liederfest. In 2021 Kiran joins the Opera Australia Chorus for Verdi’s Aida and Ernani and returns to Victorian Opera to originate the role of Mr Waa in Parrwang Lifts the Sky.
