Aida

Festival Theatre

31 Jul - 07 Aug 2010

The two main themes of the story are a love triangle on the one hand and the conflict between love and duty on the other. Both themes involve Aida herself. The intimacy and personal impact of these themes call for intimate and personal utterances, the reason why so much of this opera involves very few singers.

REVIEWS

With Kate Ladner as Aida, Rosario la Spina as Radamès and Elizabeth Campbell as Amneris, this is a strong trio in the primary roles and the interaction between them, both in the balance of their voices and in their characterizations, works superbly.
