Former principal artist at the Hessisches Staatstheater, Wiesbaden, Germany Emma Pearson performed over 30 roles for the company, including the title roles in Lucia di Lammermoor, Alban Berg’s Lulu, Shchedrin’s Lolita, Cavalli’s La Calisto, Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos), Königin der Nacht (Die Zauberflöte), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), and Adele (Die Fledermaus). She was also awarded the title of “Kammersängerin” (Ks) by the State of Hessen.

Emma has appeared with Semperoper Dresden, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Theater St Gallen, Orquestra de Valencia, Minnesota Orchestra and in Bratislava with Bertrand de Billy. She has performed Semele (filmed by Greenstone), Contessa Almaviva (The Marriage of Figaro) and Gilda (Rigoletto) for New Zealand Opera; Violetta  (La traviata) for Opera Queensland & Wellington Opera; Sophie, Queen of the night and Contessa di Folleville (Il Viaggio a Reims) for Opera Australia; Lucia for Wellington Opera, and leading roles for Pinchgut Opera, West Australian Opera and State Opera South Australia.

Recent and upcoming highlights include Elettra (Idomeneo) for Opera Australia, Countess Adele (Comte Ory) for New Zealand Opera; Beethoven’s 9th Symphony for Orchestra Wellington and Canberra Symphony; Mozart’s Requiem for Dunedin Symphony; Faure’s Requiem for Christchurch Symphony; Strauss Four Last Songs with NZSO; Armida (Rinaldo) for Pinchgut Opera and All Rise (Marsalis/Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra) with the SSO and MSO.
