Recital

Ian Bostridge

Elder Hall

13 Sep 2019

“THIS WAS WITHOUT DOUBT THE MOST EXTRAORDINARY, RIVETING, UNCANNY PERFORMANCE”

THE GUARDIAN

State Opera South Australia and Sydney Opera House are sorry to advise you of the cancellation of the lieder recital performances by Ian Bostridge planned for September this year.

Mr Bostridge has been advised by his doctors to take time off to recover from heart valve repair surgery and must, therefore, withdraw from these much-anticipated concerts. He looks forward to returning to work once he has made a full recovery and both venues will keenly seek to reschedule these concerts when possible.

Tenor Ian Bostridge’s international recital career takes him to the foremost concert halls of Europe, Japan and North America.

Nominated for fifteen Grammys, Ian Bostridge is renowned for his performances of Schubert, Schumann, Brahms and Britten. In a very special performance at Elder Hall he will sing a program that includes Schumann’s Dichterliebe and Liederkreis.
