Jeremy Kleeman

Bass/Baritone

Winner of the 2019 Australian International Opera Award and a former Sambrook Scholar with Melba Opera Trust, Jeremy Kleeman is a graduate of the Royal College of Music, London and a 2023 Samling Artist.

Based in London, Jeremy returned to Australia this year to perform in the Gilbert & Sullivan Festival for State Opera South Australia, as Guglielmo (Cosi fan tutte) for Opera Queensland and Bass Soloist in Bach’s St. John Passion with Melbourne Bach Choir.

Jeremy’s opera engagements include the title role in The Marriage of Figaro (Opera Queensland, West Australian Opera and Opera Australia Touring); Voyage to the Moon (Musica Viva/Victorian Opera);  Toby Raven in Cloudstreet (State Opera South Australia); Oscar and Lucinda and The Rape of Lucretia (Sydney Chamber Opera); Cunning Little VixenGuillaume Tell, Sweeney Todd and Into the Woods (Victorian Opera); L’incoronazione di Poppea (Pinchgut Opera) and Faramondo (Brisbane Baroque Festival). He has appeared with the Melbourne, Queensland and Canberra Symphony Orchestras, Canberra International Music Festival, the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic, and in recital for Musica Viva Australia.

In Europe, Jeremy has performed Traveller in Britten’s Curlew River in MoscowBach cantatas with the London Handel Players, Apostle in Elgar’s Apostles (London Philharmonic Orchestra), and in recital at the Tromsø Northern Lights Festival.
