Kate Ladner


Kate Ladner resides in France and performs throughout Europe and Australasia in opera houses including; Staatstheater Stuttgart (Blondchen Die Entführung aus dem Serail); Glyndebourne Touring Opera
(Konstanze Die Entführung aus dem Serail); Graz Oper (Micaela Carmen); Opera Holland Park, London (Violetta La Traviata, Magda
La Rondine, Contessa, Le Nozze di Figaro); Opera Australia (Donna Anna Don Giovanni; Vitellia La Clemenza di Tito; Violetta La Traviata; Desdemona Otello).
Kate enjoyed a huge success with her debut roles as Salome, Richard Strauss; Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust, and Floria Tosca in Puccini’s Tosca, all for State Opera. Kate performed der Waldvogel, Woglinde, Freia, Helmwige and Third Norn in two Wagner Ring Cycles produced in Australia, conducted by Jeffrey Tate and later with Asher Fisch.

In more recent years, Kate has gained a reputation as an early Verdi specialist with this year seeing her perform the title role in Alzira, the final of an early Verdi trilogy directed by Elijah Moshinsky, and conducted by Stephen Barlow for the Buxton International Opera Festival; which included the title role in Giovanna D’Arco, and Lady Macbeth in Verdi’s 1847 version of Macbeth.
