At a luxurious Italian resort, two devoted and adoring couples embark on a holiday to remember, one that will change their lives forever.

Cynical bachelor Don Alfonso places a bet with friends Guglielmo and Ferrando that their girlfriends, sisters Fiordiligi and Dorabella, will not remain faithful in the face of temptation. As the young me don disguises and set out to win the bet by seducing the other’s partner, they, and their girlfriends, find their understanding love and commitment put to the ultimate test.

As passions burn hotter than the Neapolitan sun, a hilarious and compelling story unfolds full of seduction, jealousy and broken promises. Love and loyalty are unexpectedly pushed to the limits as the couples struggle to understand what lies deep within their hearts.

State Opera South Australia proudly presents the sumptuous and steamy production that wowed Brisbane audiences last year. With a cheeky hint of HBO’s The White Lotus, Mozart’s classic Così fan tutte (or The School for Lovers) seamlessly blends heavenly music, searing wit and themes of humanity with a contemporary take on this classic opera.

Conducted by State Opera’s own Artistic Director Dane Lam and directed by Opera Queensland’s Artistic Director Patrick Nolan, the production features the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and a star-studded cast of internationally renowned performers.

South Australians Sky Ingram and Nicholas Lester feature as Fiordiligi and Guglielmo, along with Anna Dowsley and Kyle Stegall making their company debuts as Dorabella and Ferrando. Joining them as the meddlesome Don Alfonso is Christopher Hillier along with Jessica Dean as maid Despina.

Who will triumph in this game of love?
