Simone Romaniuk is an award-winning live performance designer who works across theatre, opera and festivals.

Her productions have been seen around Australia, New Zealand and the UK, with companies including State Opera South Australia, Queensland Theatre, Opera Queensland, NZ Opera, Pacific Opera, RNCM Manchester, Sydney Theatre Company, Ensemble Theatre, Unicorn Theatre London, Griffin Theatre, Expressions Dance Company, Brisbane Festival and Adelaide Festival Centre’s OzAsia Festival.

Simone was Creative Director of OzAsia Festival and Creative Director/Designer of the Moon Lantern Parade at the Adelaide Festival Centre from 2015 – 2019. She was Resident Designer with Queensland Theatre in 2012, and prior to this was an Affiliate Artist with the company.

OzAsia Festival won Best Major Festivals and Events in the South Australian Tourism Awards 2019 and was shortlisted twice for event design in the APDG Awards. Simone was a Manchester Theatre Awards design finalist for La Vie Parisienne and has won two Matilda awards for Best Design for Macbeth and Kelly and two Matilda Gold awards for Body of Work for Queensland Theatre productions.

Simone holds a Bachelor of Dramatic Art, Design from the National Institute of Dramatic Art and Bachelor of Design Studies, Three Dimensional Design from Queensland College of Art.
