spending time with my husband and two children, volunteering at the cricket and swimming clubs and enjoy watching sports and playing board games

Try and make sure we make great music!

My favourite opera is…
The best thing about opera is the huge variety of styles, so it is impossible to pick one. From Monteverdi to Mozart, Verdi and Puccini, Britten and beyond, there’s so much great theatre. Will never tire of Verdi’s Falstaff and Puccini’s Turandot.

What I enjoy most about working at State Opera
A great team, wonderful people in the chorus, talent bursting out everywhere.

When I’m not at work, I’m…
Working in my other (not so secret) passion – Anglican choral music, at St Peter’s Cathedral.

What I do
I’m in charge of the production department. Stage management, set, props, lights, sound, wardrobe, surtitles, wigs and makeup all work for me. I manifest the ideas of the designers and directors into three-dimensional form on this astral plane.

Always the one I’m working on now… I’m not being glib… One must buy into the ideas of each piece otherwise why do it?

Cooking for my wife and kids… or chasing my 7YO daughter around the golf courses of Australia.

What I do
If you visit our website, receive our e-newsletter, interact with our pages on socials, see our ads and ultimately buy tickets to a State Opera event, we’ve virtually met!

The Magic Flute. Give me fantasy and sci-fi any day of the week!

What I enjoy most about working at State Opera
The constant soundtrack of opera singers practicing and rehearsing!

When I’m not at work, I’m…
Traveling, playing with my dog Maverick or upcycling furniture.

What I do: I get to work with all our fabulous individual and corporate supporters to raise the much needed funds to ensure we can continue to deliver more opera, to more people.

My favourite opera is… La Traviata! Paris, parties, champagne and forbidden love – what’s not to love!?

What I enjoy most about working at State Opera: Being surrounded by people who are passionate about supporting the arts and working with so many incredibly talented creatives.

When I’m not at work, I’m… spending time with family and friends, travelling, finding new restaurants to try or visiting galleries.

Finance, from payrolls to invoices and everything in between.

Working in a completely different field than I ever worked before: the arts industry is such an exciting one to be involved with!

When I’m not at work, I’m…
Eating and drinking in some of my favourite wineries in the Hills. In summer, you will find me by the pool and in winter, cuddling my two cats that I adore.

What I do: Support opera from beginning to end. Helping our wonderful team tell stories.

My favourite opera is… ever changing! The phenomenal thing about the world of opera is how vast it is. I will forever love Hänsel und Gretel, have a nostalgic joy for Le nozze di Figaro, but cannot stop listening to La Cenerentola currently. Missy Mazzoli’s Breaking the Waves is one of the most sensational operas of recent years.

What I enjoy most about working at State Opera… Bringing the magic of opera to the stage by supporting the most amazing artists. We are storytellers, and experiencing the transformation from the first spark of an idea to the stage is sensational.

When I’m not at work, I’m… supporting further projects or developments in the arts, directing, project managing or mentoring. In my downtime you can find me strolling along the beach or trying to see any productions Adelaide has to offer!

What I do
I am your first point of contact – visit or call our office and I am the one you will talk to. Otherwise I am running the office and making sure everyone is equipped with what they need to get the job done.

My favourite opera is…
Peter Grimes by Benjamin Britten – I used to play trombone in the orchestra pit when I was living in Germany and the music of this opera is just amazing!

To see the productions come together and work with so many amazing people who make our productions possible.

Traveling, reading or training to become an Alexander Technique Teacher… or just enjoying a nice cup of coffee!

What I do
I work on a range of marketing activities to help promote our shows. I also look at our customer data to identify buying patterns and trends, and try to predict what our customers want from their experience at the opera!

I love going behind the scenes and getting to see what it takes to put on a show at one of SA’s great performing arts companies.

I look after Donor Relations, Ticketing & Events

It’s impossible to choose just one. Every time we do a new production, it becomes my new favourite!

It’s a very collaborative environment, and we all have fun while we work, which is a huge plus!

When I’m not at work, I’m…
Catching up with friends and family.

What I do
I issue contracts for all artists involved in our productions – conductors, singers, directors, designers, instrumentalists, language coaches, actors, dancers, and technical production crew.

Tosca – just love the music!
