Pearls of the East and West

Saturday 10 May, 2.30pm

An afternoon of poetry and music, where words and notes tell stories of longing and belonging, brought to life by two song cycles written for tenor, string quartet and piano.

From the harrowing tale of ineffably historical beauty, torn apart by indiscriminate war, in Jonathan Dove’s In Damascus; to the nostalgic sense of lost innocence in Vaughan Williams’ quintessentially English On Wenlock Edge; join tenor Kyle Stegall in a journey through place and identity.
