A Score through Time

Following on from the success of The Frog Prince which toured in 2024-25, State Opera will again be taking opera to some of the youngest South Australians with the launch of their new show, A Score through Time. The production will be the first schools touring opera independently developed in South Australia and will be available to tour primary schools across the state in mid-late 2026.

The show follows a female scientist who has just created a musical time machine. Featuring musical periods including baroque to classical to romanticism and on to post-modern, her fun and magical journey encounters a rich tapestry of characters and social situations and brings her home more confident and assured. There is also a view into the future of what the world—and music, will be like.

A talented cast of upcoming South Australian singers alongside dynamic multi-media visuals will create a highly entertaining and educational musical experience that will be cherished for years.
