“EVERY ACT IS A PARTY FIZZING WITH ROMANCE AND COMEDY… A TRULY BEAUTIFUL PRODUCTION”
– LIMELIGHT MAGAZINE
Genuinely entertaining from start to finish, this much-loved operetta features exquisite music, magnificent waltzes and lavish art-deco sets. Spectacular costumes and designs create the perfect opulent backdrop to this romantic comedy as Baron Zeta attempts to arrange a successful marriage to save his homeland Pontevedra from bankruptcy.
Starring Antoinette Halloran, this fresh production is beautifully romantic, and as devilishly funny as ever.

Director and choreographer Graeme Murphy weaves his magic in this sumptuous production, designed by Michael Scott-Mitchell and Jennifer Irwin.

Duration: 190 minutes including two intervals.
Sung in English, with English surtitles sponsored by the James & Diana Ramsay Foundation.

This production of The Merry Widow is commissioned by the Opera Conference, Australia’s national partnership of professional opera companies.
