Bethany Hill is an Adelaide based musician and performer. Her work as a versatile operatic soprano has been critically acclaimed, with comments including “strong and perfect vocals…a treat for the senses” by the Advertiser, “a stand out” and “vivacious” by The Sydney Morning Herald, and “powerful-yet-sensitive” by CutCommon.
A specialist in Early Music, Bethany also enjoys regularly collaborating with composers on new work. She aspires to approach all musical genres with a fresh pair of ears and an open mind, and delights in the evocation of emotional response from audiences through her performances.
Bethany has performed with State Opera South Australia, Co-Opera, Gertrude Opera (VIC), Various People Inc., Mopoke Theatre, and the award-winning Adelaide Chamber Singers. She is a regular artist for the Adelaide Festival and Fringe, including performing in Barrie Kosky’s Helpmann Award-winning production of Handel’s Saul.
For the 2018 Festival Bethany made her principal debut in Patch Theatre’s Can You Hear Colour? She was part of the creative development for this piece; a career highlight to date.
