A love-sick Count, a feisty young woman, and a barber with a cunning plan. Rossini’s comic masterpiece The Barber of Seville is a giddy romp along the path to true love, by way of serenades, ridiculous disguises and trickery. If love makes a fool of us all, then this popular opera buffa is one of the greats. Imprisoned by her wicked guardian, the savvy Rosina is no match for lock and key, especially when the fast-talking, flashy Figaro turns up and promises to help her find the man of her dreams. This vivid and vivacious production features a dazzling collection of Australia’s opera stars.

A Co-Production between Opera Queensland, Seattle Opera and New Zealand Opera.

Who saw Dominic J Walsh - tenor in the role of Nanki Poo in "The Mikado" in November last year?

As part of Opera Queensland's An Aria A Day series, he reprises the aria 'A Wand'ring minstrel I', accompanied by his husband, Dr Edgar Chan, a Clinical Neuro-psychologist with the NHS working on the frontline of the Covid-19 recovery.

Saw it in the front row with some friends. Loved every second of it.

It was a pleasure working with Dominic last year!!! Great fun!

Fabulous memories. Would do it again in a flash. Einstein was definitely the most challenging mentally and physically.

A rare treat to see these 3 wonderful operas together. My favourite was Akhenaten.

It was an incredible thing to be part of!

A highlight for me! I would do it again if given the chance! My favourite of the three portrait operas!

I have never counted to 8 so many times in my life!!

Unforgettable.
